System Level Simulation for EM Engineers
Webinar Series: Advanced Low Frequency Electromagnetic Workflows
System-level simulation for low-frequency electromagnetic applications is a crucial aspect of modern engineering. Reduced-order models (ROMs) drastically speed up simulation time, enabling the analysis of transient effects for complex applications, such as coupling inverter, controller, motor and mechanical application.
This webinar introduces the basic principles of system level simulation from the perspective of an electromagnetic engineer. Additionally, we will demonstrate how to generate ROMs from an electromagnetic simulation - the so-called "equivalent circuit extraction model" (ECE).
Finally, we explore several more advanced examples to lead the way to transient electro-mechanical system simulation. In the upcoming webinar on 06.11.2025, we will apply the methods to model transient vibration of a PMSM under PWM excitation.
Join our webinar and learn:
- basic principles of system simulation and analytical analogies of different physical domains
- the generation of the electromagnetic reduced order model (ECE) through Ansys Maxwell
- how to define and setup advanced system level workflows that couple multiple physical domains
