Custom Geometry Modelling using a Shape Optimization Approach

Webinar Series: Advanced Low Frequency Electromagnetic Workflows

Ansys Motor-CAD features a new and powerful Python interface that enables the modification of existing templates, called Adaptive Templates. Users can now extend the existing parameterization with custom parameters and combine them in optimization workflows.

The challenge here is that additional parameters lead to higher-dimensional parameter spaces, which increase the effort and computational time required.
Using shape approaches, almost any geometry can be defined with a minimal number of additional parameters.

In combination with the metamodel approach using Ansys optiSLang, this offers an efficient optimization workflow for user-defined geometries. This shape optimization approach is not restricted to Ansys Motor-CAD, but can also be used with any other simulation software.

Join our webinar and discover:

  • different approaches to define geometries
  • how to use adaptive template geometries in Ansys Motor-CAD
  • challenges and solutions in the combination of geometric shape definition in combination with metamodel-based optimization
