Optimization of Induction Heating Processes
Webinar Series: Advanced Low Frequency Electromagnetic Workflows
Induction heating typically requires a custom-designed inductor for each specific component geometry, to guarantee highest quality. This presents a challenge in production lines where different part geometries are processed, as it necessitates frequent and time-consuming inductor changeovers, leading to increased costs.
To reduce downtime in production lines, a versatile inductor design is needed that works across varying geometries. While not optimized to perfection for any single part, the new found inductor design manifests the best compromise and avoids frequent retooling.
Electromagnetic and thermal simulations are performed using Ansys Maxwell and Mechanical. Due to the high number of input parameters, Ansys optiSLang is used to explore the design space efficiently, applying optimization routines and constraints to identify the most robust solution.
Join our webinar and discover:
- the modelling of both the electromagnetic and mechanical domain
- the coupling of both domains through Ansys Workbench
- how to integrate the full workflow into the design optimization software Ansys optiSLang
